Pitch a story
Vibrant Food Journal welcomes considered pitches about ingredients, kitchen craft, food history, foodways and the experience of eating together. Send proposals through the Contact page rather than submitting a finished article.
What we welcome
We are interested in focused ideas that explain a cooking choice, compare distinct ingredient or method options, trace a food tradition, or illuminate a particular part of food culture. Pitches should suit a general English-speaking readership and offer a clear reason the subject matters beyond a passing trend.
A strong pitch
Tell us the proposed subject, the central question or idea, the likely shape of the piece and what makes your approach distinct. Name the sources or kinds of material you would draw on where relevant, and disclose any commercial interest connected to the subject. We value a defined angle over a broad topic list.
Before sending
Please propose original work and do not send confidential, private or sensitive material. We cannot promise acceptance or a response by a particular date. Proposals are sent through the Contact page; choose the editorial option and include your pitch in the message.
